My name is Felicia Cruz.  My father brought us to this country from Cuba when I was just a baby.

Once we arrived here, my father made sure we all learned English as we were no longer Cubans but were Americans.

Of course we still love our Cuban heritage but if we want to prosper here, we must embrace our new country and the world will open its arms, my father would say.

Because of this, we have had opportunities we could never have had in Cuba.
