Since this weekend is Memorial Day weekend, we always open the Monday before. That way we can have everything ready for the many beach goers for the three day weekend. I’m not so sure this is going to be a typical Memorial Day weekend though. There are so very many people out of work from being laid off and gas is going higher and higher yet again. Do the gas companies not realize that people are suffering and raising gas by 20 cents a gallon in one week is just more than most of them can take? I don’t think they really care one way or another just as long as they can make their record profits.
My Dad still coaches little league baseball at the local community center. He has coached ever since we were big enough to play baseball and just never quit. It really think it’s not only great for him but I know it’s wonderful for the kids in the community. They all call him Coach and you just might even hear the local District Attorney call my Dad Coach since my Dad coached him when he was a kid.
He’s not one of those coaches that only coaches during the season either. He gets the kids in his back yard and they play all the time, weather permitting that is. He even got one of those radar guns from radargunsales.com like you see the big league guys use to tell how fast a pitch is going. He feels that the more he can do to help these kids succeed in little league, then the more they will learn about pushing and growing in other things.
Life may not revolve around baseball, but there are some important lessons to be learned in baseball. Dad told me about this site and all the great things they have for kids that play ball. In fact, they’re having a yard sale this spring to buy some of the other equipment they have on there for the team.
Boy are the economic times tough or what? The stock market is up one day and then back down the next. People are losing their jobs and it seems like everyone is asking Congress for some type of a bail out. Well not all companies are lucky enough for our government to bail out when we run our business poorly so if you have a business of your own, you better work smart and hard if you’re going to make it through these tough times.
Merchant services you might think are hard to come by now but you’re wrong. There is a web site that will help you grow instead of closing your doors. It’s onlinecheck.com. But like I said, you have to be smart. Most everyone lately is having to use their credit cards to make purchases when they normally wouldn’t. If you don’t accept credit cards and debit cards, that puts you at a disadvantage and your business will go to another company that does accept them.
Check out this site and you will find that they offer fast business loans with less restrictions than a traditional bank loan. They have less stringent requirements, no closing cost or fees, and faster approval than with a bank loan.
I’ve kind of gotten interested in the top earners that are no longer with us. This one is too cool. It’s Einstein. Now how cool is that? He died in 1955 before I was even born and he’s not making money on his theory only either. Check this out:
Albert Einstein, who died in 1955, probably never thought he would be earning money from making babies smarter. But Baby Einstein, a suite of learning tools for infants, keeps expanding. Now the brand is being marketed toward middle schoolers. International licensing with Nestle’s Japanese coffee brand, Charge, and an upcoming sneaker campaign with basketball player Kobe Bryant add to Einstein’s rich portfolio of deals.
