This was someone elses home before I bought it. They fixed things the way they wanted it and it looks good but it’s just not totally my style. I thought I might start simple so I ordered my shutters. Now I really would like to replace every light in every room with Tommy Bahama fans. They are not only functional but are also just what I have been looking for in a ceiling fan.
The elegant breezes collection is beautiful. For my bedroom, I think I would get the Marine in Teak. It really matches my style of furniture. In my living room, the Paradise Key in Colonial White is perfect. Now for my dining room, the Paradise Key in Medium Antiqued Brown looks like it will match my dining room suite perfectly, or close enough anyway. Yeah, I think that’s exactly what I’m going to do. I found just what I wanted at lightingbygregory.com.

My family is all over the place. Would you believe that we still write hand written letters to each other? I know that sounds old fashioned but remember when you were young and you got a real letter from someone you loved or just someone you liked even? Remember how special that made you feel? Especially if the paper it was written on wasn’t just plain old notebook paper?
Stationary used to be something wonderful to give as a gift and still is today for my family. I found some wonderful paper products online at paper-papers.com. The paper and envelopes come in some beautiful iridescent pastel colors and also some bold and/or pastel metallic colors. You can find just about any paper and envelopes you want there too. They don’t just have the standard 8.5 inch by 11 inch paper and standard envelopes. They also have paper up to 19 inch by 25 inches. They have recycled paper too which I think is wonderful. More paper products should be recycled to save our trees to help with global warming too.
Anyway, if you need business paper, address labels, inkjet paper or paper in bulk, you just might want to check these guys out. They even have wholesale paper too.

Bonita and I didn’t have enough merchandise to go to the flea market today so we decided to stay home and work on more things to take next weekend. I have made some little shelves with two saucers. Well I can make two shelves with three saucers because I have to cut one in half to make the shelf. It’s not as easy as it sounds because most saucers are curved just a bit so you have to make a curve of a cut on each end to make it fit on the saucer. It’s much easier to cut a cup in half and make a planter. I’m not sure these are going to work out but it’s something I’m trying.
I may end up putting a half of a saucer on a plate to make a little shelf on the plate. I could still put the clock into the plate too. I have so many different ideas running around in my head that I have to draw them out so I won’t forget the idea. it’s all trial and error at this point to see what works and what doesn’t. Bonita is working on new things with recycling the plastic that our friends have been saving for us. She’s amazing with that art work she’s doing.

Bonita and I took everything we had to the flea market and came home almost empty handed. I’m absolutely amazed at the response to the things we have made. Bonita has been making artwork out of all of the different colored plastic bottles and they have sold like hot cakes. She makes fish, flowers, butterflies and even made some birds and they’re all gone. It will take awhile to get more plastic bottles to make more. Our friends are saving all of theirs for us thank goodness.
Another huge seller has been the plate wall clocks. I have even taken some saucers and cups and made little flower holders to go on each side of the plate clocks that match the clocks and they are just flying off of the shelves too. Bonita is now going to thrift shops and yard sales when we can find them trying to find more plates, saucers and matching cups. I have made some saucer plant holders that don’t have clocks to match and they’re even selling. I love this country!!!!

Well I did take a lot of our items to the flea market Saturday and Sunday and did better, well far better than I expected. That has made for an extra busy week because I’m going back next weekend too. I got some ideas from seeing what some of the vendors had for sale of other items to make too. Bonita was my eyes that day. She went around to the vendors and when she found something interesting, she came back and told me where to look. We drew up our ideas for a similar item and that’s what we’ve been working on all week.
Some of the things came out great and some came out absolutely awful but that’s part of the fun of being creative. Some things work and some don’t. So this coming weekend, we’re going back to the flea market and see if it was a fluke or if we can do a repeat of last weekend. I hope it wasn’t a fluke!!! The best part of all of this is we are taking what some call junk that would end up in a landfill somewhere and turning it into something that people are actually buying to hang or put in their homes. Pretty neat huh?
