Well I found out it’s pretty easy to start a partnership. Basically all it consists of is the signed agreement between Bonita and I. Now I have to present the whole idea to her. She likes her job and also helps me with my clocks and other crafts. She has had some really good ideas of other things we can make too that will go perfectly with what I’m making.
As for my business, since it has been mine and mine alone for 3 years, I couldn’t just give Bonita half of that off the bat. I have worked hard to build that myself, by myself. I’m not sure how to work that one because all of the items we make together will be sold in my store but be like the vendors that bring merchandise to me. That’s it, she doesn’t have to have part of my store, just her and I will be vendors for that merchandise and she’ll be over the online store too. I’ll still have to work all of that out in my head and then approach her with it.
That was smart thinking. Even though you are dealing with family, you still need to make everything legal and up front so neither one of you gets angry or feels that they aren’t getting or earning their share. Good luck with your new business venture!!!
